2024 MCGPA Amine Treating Operations Training
Acid gas removal (CO2 and H2S) is required to meet pipeline residue gas specifications, to prevent CO2 freezing in cryogenic gas plant operations, and to ensure that liquid NGL products meet their product specifications. Ever wondered why one of your assets’ removes the acid gas from the natural gas stream upstream of the cryo gas plant, versus others that have amine treating on the recovered NGL stream / or possibly even on an ethane / or propane product from a fractionation unit? This interactive training session will discuss the key performance parameters for acid gas removal units, as well as critical hydrocarbon phase behavior considerations that can result in many operating problems in the field. This training is designed for field/plant operations and will focus on real issues and troubleshooting. The requirements for AGRU performance will be discussed related to gas and liquid product specifications.
This one-day training session will cover the following topics:
- Why is Acid Gas Removal Required
- Residue Gas and Liquid Products Specifications
- Amine Treating Overview
- Qualitative Phase Behavior of Natural Gas and Hydrocarbon Liquids
- AGRU considerations and key performance parameters for Feed Gas Applications
- AGRU considerations and key performance parameters for Liquid Treating Applications
