CLASS SUMMARY:
This session will start off with a high-level discussion on Y-Grade stabilizers, otherwise known as Demethanizers, we will then follow the extracted and stabilized NGLs through the transfer pumps, and lastly, we will review amine liquid product treating.
Training Topics:
- Y-Grade stabilizers, otherwise known as Demethanizers.
- Y-Grade composition and common contaminants
- Phase behavior for a typical Y-grade NGLs composition
- Column operating conditions for a given NGL composition.
- How these columns work, common operating issues, and the critical control parameters
- The extracted and stabilized NGLs through the transfer pumps.
- Product pumps at the bottom of the demethanizer as well as pipeline transfer pumps
- The common types of pumps selected for these services and their advantages and disadvantages.
- Common operating issues, such as pump performance and motor loads, and other common problems experienced in these systems.
- Review amine liquid product treating. Common amine treating operating issues such as emulsions at the amine / LPG interface, amine losses, vapor buildup in the top of the contactor, will be discussed, including difficulties with meeting the product water content specification and possible mitigation solutions.
